Our goal is to prepare our students to be globally competitive. Alain Locke Charter Academy is a program of the Inner-City Teaching Corps. Named for Alain Locke, the first African-American Rhodes Scholar, we are committed to instilling in our students the high standards of excellence he exemplified. To that end, we develop students with high expectations of self; we instill an understanding of the hard work they must undertake to attain these expectations; and we equip them with the tools to achieve absolute excellence. |
Alain Locke Highlighted in National Broadcast of President Obama’s Education AgendaAlain Locke was featured on February 17 in a U.S. Department of Education broadcast introducing Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and President Obama's education agenda. Alain Locke is one of seven schools nationwide highlighted by the Department of Education as "Closing the Achievement Gap" and was recognized here as a model of an effective Renaissance 2010 charter school that provides students with an excellent education and preparation for the global market.
